Stacey Mayer was born in Seattle, Washington. She and her husband, Phil, have four wonderful daughters. Did her parents know she could draw when she was a child? Her early memories of washing crayon markings off the walls says, "yes!" Each of her daughters inherited this tendency - and has washed a lot of walls to clear up their messes, too. Today, her daughters help her with many family art projects.
Stacey grew up riding her half-Arabian gelding in the Woodinville, WA, area, before it was famous as a winery and fine restaurant destination. Her favorite horses were Arabians, Appaloosas, sport horses, race horses, and gaited horses. Her art was always filled with horses, unicorns, mermaids, and other beautiful things. Thankfully, her family was supportive of her artistic talent, and there was always paint and paper available to create and practice her artwork.
In 1980, the Arabian Horse Registry commissioned Stacey to illustrate, "Guardians of the Breed", and her artwork quickly become recognizable to the Arabian horse world. Today, owners of Stacey Mayer art include; Israeli Arabian Horse National Champions, the 1
